Food and Religion

Lets talk food and religion.

I'll start by asking google to name six popular religions:

Next I clicked on a link that gave me these results:

First on the list is Christianity; I believe it is in agreement that most Christians are omnivores and have little moral or religious to no moral or religious objection to eating meat of any kind.

Next on the list is the Muslim region. Upon a quick google search (AND CORRECT ME IF YOU KNOW DIFFERENTLY FOR I AM EXCEEDINGLY IGNORANT IN THIS CATEGORY) I found that the Islamic dietary laws divide food and behavior into three categories. Here is a snip-it showing those categories.
There are many rules, I am going to snip that information in as well (you don't have to read it to get this post, if you are not interested):

....

Okay, if you want to research the rest, go ahead but I'm going to get to the point here...
In my religion (which, I am not forcing upon anyone) vegetarianism will be the dietary rule.

(To be continued...)

What is "religion" anywho?

Upon a quick Google search I found this definition of religion:
- Details of belief as taught or discussed
I also found this one:
- The belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, esp. a personal God or gods.

My definition of religion *RIGHT NOW* would be this:
A written or mass-agreed belief system, often times related to destination and purpose.

What is your definition?
